In March 2016, expert for activities in the field of the National Project Healthy Communities 2A conducted work meetings with different groups of Roma Health Mediators (RHM) and their coordinators.
The meetings were conducted in Vranov nad Topľou, Rimavská Sobota and Chminianske Jakubovany. The purpose of these workshops was to become familiar with the achievements of the RHMs and their coordinators, their activities in the first quarter of the calendar year, and to determine individual needs related to their field work.

On March 22-23, 2016 on the occasion of the World Water Day, we organized - together with our Roma Health Mediators - sampling of water from wells of our clients. We brought it for analysis to the local Regional Public Health Offices (in Humenné, Vranov, Michalovce). In Michalovce, we were joined by the group of health mediators under Eugen Miľo, their coordinator.
During the second week of March, the need for health education in schools in Eastern Slovakia emerged again after some time. Coordinator Rudolf Rusňák responded very flexibly to the increased incidence of hepatitis A in the villages Boliarov, Vtáčkovce, Kecerovce and Rankovce. Educational activities and lessons at schools were carried out together with the Roma Health Mediators- Gréta Balogová, David Rybár and Marián Pecha. They focused mainly on raising awareness about importance of hygiene and prevention of hepatitis A.
About 10 o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, March 9, Prešov and Sabinov firefighters were called to a fire in containerized housing units in the settlement of Jarovnice. During the fire two appartments were damaged- one burned down completely and the other is temporarily uninhabitable after the fire. The interference took nine firefighters about two hours. Luckily, there was no one at the site during the fire, so the potential injuries were avoided.

Are you also of the opinion that if something is done well, it should be presented to as many people as possible? This is exactly what we think as well! Therefore, we want our work and especially the work of our Health Mediators and their Coordinators to be professionally presented abroad.
